10 Reasons To Wait

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

Well Ive been hearing about the new mac book air a lot lately and you know I gotta ask what they were thinking when they designed that thing, I mean yea it’s the thinnest laptop out there right now but who really cares about that in the long run when it sacrifices the functionality that a person who uses a laptop on a daily basis requires be it for a business or students ect. In the article that I’m linking after I finish this little rant the guy nailed the issues on the nose with the mac book air, the biggest issues I would have are the Battery, CD/DVD drive and hard drive. The HD is the big one for me I mean we all pretty much have been there where you don’t have the use of your own computer and get stuck with a slow *pofs* and it can be excruciating and going from a 7200rpm drive or even a 5400 rpm drive would be on this side of irritating for me, then theres the CD/DVD drive or in this case a lack there of which I’m a person who tends to fill up a hard drive pretty quick and do enough tasks and messing around with my OS *probably more then I should* that I format and redo my laptop and desktops on a monthly basis so not having that and having to fork out more money or even try to do a network install is a total waste of my time. Now for the battery I know anyone with a laptop always hits that point where you *must* swap out your battery as an unfortunate thing it happens to me all to often and I don’t have a spare, so anyway not being able to swap out batteries and be able to continue whatever tasks you require to do your totally screwed till you can find an outlet…..ok I’m gonna end my rant there, an I’m sure my grammar is less then satisfactory *what else is new lol* but pretty much my opinion on the mac book air is it’s an over priced piece of eye candy that isn’t worth buying.

big rant lol well heres the link to the ===>Article< === have a good one and seriously no offense to mac fans either I just see a lack of practicality and functionality in this thing. ;)

Beware the Child-Man?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Ok I was surfing through digg and this topic title caught my attention pretty quick so I thought I would take a look, I’m not going to write up anything huge as the comment Ive quoted from digg below says it all and to the dude that wrote it kudos man you hit the nail on the nose. lol

Well that was long. What it basically comes down to is this b**** got dumped by some dude who liked to play games. She called her mom and cried about it and her mother insisted something must be wrong with these men who have not started spawning yet. Then she took it on air to help solidify her position to herself.

Honestly though i get the same thing from my parents and im 26. The ONLY thing that is spoken of if i talk to them is why i have not started breeding yet. Can’t really blame them they have many years of evolution telling them that i MUST start breeding now!

My attitude, who gives a f***. I’m happy with the petty, temporary relationships, and freedom that comes with being single.

Nes Nostalgia

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

seems to be a bit of original NES nostalgia going on lately, I’m a bit of a collector of games and have been buying up a bunch of nes games which is why I thought the following 2 bits I found on digg would be both amusing and bring back some fond memories of the good old 8 bit gaming days.

For anyone who’s an Original Nes Mario fan I’m sure you will be able to appreciate how awesome the vid in the following link is Drumming to Super Mario 2

Also for anyone who is any sort of a duck hunt fan you can at least appreciate and get a bit of a laugh out of the following pic. lol

Gizmodo Staffer Banned From CES?

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I put the question mark at the end of the title since I can’t be 100% on accuracy of the article I read, however I read about the prank that this Gizmodo staff member pulled at the CES conference and I gotta say if he’s been banned I have no sympathy. After reading the first article, what this staff member did isn’t entirely what shocks me or makes me shake my head but the childish comments I saw from people that read it. For example stuff like “omg that is so hilarious or like zomg thats F*****n awesome” to put it plain and simple what was done was totally lame and I personally think definitely warrants a ban from attending anymore of these events as it shows just how immature and incapable this person is of self restraint. I like a good practical joke as much as the next person but I know the line between appropriate and inappropriate and what he did crossed it big time and effected the whole event. Anyway here is the Article I would like to here what everyone else thinks about this incident.

Increased Linux Popularity in Retail PC’s

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Well for those who know me I am a bit of a linux fan and dislike anything microsoft, however I’m not gonna say anything aside from the following statement about my personal prefs since my whole reason for using linux is cause I personally just like it *no flames please I realize & and acknowledge both OS have their purpose*. Anywho I was on digg and found This Article about the increased popularity in the sale of retail PC’s being shipped with linux and I just had to post about it *no not to tote any flags*, I think it’s great to see an increased diversity in the computer OS market since Windows has always been the primary while others sit in the shadows so to speak and a definite bonus to this diversity is it’s giving people more choice in their computing experience and for those who have only ever known windows it gives them the opportunity to learn a new operating system and increase their experience over all in the OS arena. I know from personal experience the switch from being a pure windows user, I started messing with linux going on 7 years ago now and it was difficult to start but same as I learned computing on windows through messing around with it on my first windows PC I did so on linux as well, the long term benefits of it are worth it I think cause rather then being informed on using just windows PC’s I can work with both windows and linux PC’s without having to stumble around a different and unfamiliar interface.
