Well was looking through the tech section on digg when I came across the title worst hard drive crash ever, being the tech head I am I had to check it out and holy crap is this hard drive ever fragged. I know this doesn’t really fit into news but I thought it was kinda funny/amazingly bad and although stuff like this can be a techs nightmare cause hey we have to fix it…but at the same time you gotta laugh just over the wtf and how the hell did this happen shock value of it. anyway i’ll leave the link to the site and post a pic below.

Found this while browsing digg and thought it was really kinda cool, furniture that transforms gotta love technology and ingenuity it’s amazing the things people come up with. after looking at this stuff it looks a tad bit on the uncomfortable side and not exactly the more practical but be damned if it isn’t just plain cool though…..thats about all I can say really check it out for yourself.

Well was browsing digg as usual and came across this piece on the Geforce 8 series getting PhysX support and thought it was an interesting read, I’m not sure entirely what performance differences this move will make but I am intrigued by it none the less and will definitely be checking it out once they release the new 8 series drivers supporting it.

Smaller thinner more portable laptops seem to be the new theme lately, which I mean it’s always interesting to see the new advancements in the ever changing world of technology however every company I see coming out with their new micro laptops as I suppose you could say I see something I don’t like with each one of them that would keep me from getting one. Fore instance as Ive posted already with the macbook air the lack of an internal optical drive as I use one quite often, then the battery issue and the fact that the hard drive is sub standard speed. As far as the X300 is concerned it’s the slow processing capability for the cost(which is supposedly to be $2744), I will say this though at least they put a DVD drive in it. Ok now for the new HP it seems to for the most part have the same functionality from what the snippet says as the X300 however my biggest problem with it is it has a tiny 8.9″ screen and I mean I don’t like the 13.3″ screens to much and would rather have a 15.4″, I know I know the whole point of making things smaller is portability and minimizing power consumption without sacrificing to much functionality but seriously an 8.9″ screen?. Wouldn’t that kinda hinder the functionality if the user has to look at his or her laptop screen using a magnifying glass? ….guess I’m kinda ranting a bit again but anyway the biggest thing excluding the hardware as far as these things goes is the cost, which is totally ridiculous, anyway i’ll cut my rant there and leave you a pic and the link to the snippet from digg below.

Well I would like to thank everyone who frequents Beyond Control, I must say it’s been difficult getting it to where it is and I have no plans on giving up or shutting down, as a matter of fact it’s quite the opposite. I am nearing the end of my school term and once that is done I will be seeking out employment and hopefully will be able to finally spare the cash to start bringing modding contests of my own to the site, to be more precise I have 1 month and 2 weeks left of school which about damn time as much as I like learning new things I need to get out there and start bringing in the cash to.

I actually have a lot planned for the site including expansions that I will not release info on at this time as I have a lot of planning to do, however needless to say I must give a big thanks to everyone again cause this site would not be where it is without ya and I much appreciate it. Some may be wondering as they read this and thinking you bastard why are you posting about changes that prob aren’t gonna be happening for a while?……:lol: well ta put it bluntly I’m a bastard and figure it will give viewers something to look forward to, don’t worry though it will all get done sooner or later. Until then I will be posting up news and hopefully more mods and guides as well as often as I can and whenever I see something that may spark some interest.

Well should have seen this one coming another company doing the monkey see monkey do routine and as the title says the new Lenovo Thinkpad X300 fits into a manilla envelope, now were sitting here thinking ok would have thought others would have learned from apple’s errors with the macbook air. It seems despite those thoughts on this new laptop that not only have they made an ultra portable equiv version of their own but also improved upon where apple came short with the macbook air, there wasn’t quite enough details in the article I found posted up on digg but it made a few mentionings of improvements which included one of the big ones I had an issue with on the macbook air and that is that the X300 gives the option of being able to actually swap your battery out. anyway i’ll just slap the link up bellow an you can take a look for yourself and I will be on the , lookout for anything new on this laptop as well it’s just cool to see what kind of competition is going on in the tech world.

Well kinda like the guy who wrote the article I’m gonna be linking to Ive never got the whole guitar hero thing but when I saw this article on digg I thought it was pretty awesome, the concept of a game that actually lets you use a real electric guitar and teaches you how to play is really cool I think. I mean Ive always wanted to learn but always came up with or had some excuse to avoid it and honestly I would go for this for sure, I’m going to definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
