Wii Mod

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Well since there hasn’t really been alot tech wise on digg as of late, Ive bee searching through google and I managed to come across this awesome Zelda Wii mod. As a fan of the Zelda series if I could go out and get a Wii like this I would so be there, I noticed to there was one person in the comments that seemed to be a bit of a know it all and figured the bumpyness of the paint on the Wii was orange peel and insisted that it was a modders excuse for not being able to hack it…..well anyone that looks at the pic should be able to tell that the bumpyness was purely intentional to create a sort of stone block feel to it, hell even if it did turn out to be orange peel who cares it’s still an awesome mod and if anything the texture gives more to that. I would like to post the name of the person who did the mod but it wasn’t disclosed in the snippet, however Kudo’s to the modder who made it and keep up the great work.

Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

Alright so I have a Logitech G11 gaming keyboard here, I was quite excited upon receiving the e-mail from Logitech asking me if I would like to review the G11. I finally got it on Tuesday and I gotta say the my first thought when I opened it up the box was holy crap that’s one big keyboard, anyway after using it for a week I’m really impressed by it.

The G11 has 18 programmable keys to make gaming and other tasks you might do on windows somewhat easier. Along with the 18 programmable keys there are 3 mode keys that allow you to store 3 key profiles for the 18 keys, say you have key sets you use more frequently than others you would set those to the 3 mode keys. There’s also a key labeled “MR” that allows you to quick record key strokes for macros to save time, the final feature to note about the programmable keys is that it doesn’t just limit you to the 3 mode keys, you can actually create as many key profiles as you like.

Final things for me to cover would be the cool back lit keys, they are blue back lit with 2 different brightness settings, it’s not something that I would consider overly important about the keyboard however if you are a night owl like me or just a gamer who likes to game in the dark it can be a handy feature. It also as most of the keyboards now has a set of media keys for controlling your windows medial player’s playback/volume etc. again nothing hugely important although very handy none the less for alleviating the requirement to change windows if your in the middle of doing something be it gaming or browsing etc.

Well that about wraps things up, the only down points I can see for the G11 would be the key spacing/area and the USB port. The key spacing/area as I find with basically all of the new keyboard is a little on the narrow side and I always find myself tripping over my fingers, but again all new keyboards I find that a problem with. As for the USB ports they are USB v1.1 rather then v2.0, however since any computer that anyone would be using the G11 with will more then likely have plenty of USB ports this to me isn’t something that would be a big deal, they will still be useful for any other devices that don’t require the speed of the USB 2.0 bus.

All that said I would give the G11 a 10.

*sorry about the crappy image quality I really need a new camera*

Apologies

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Hey everyone, sorry about the lack of updates in the past week Ive been rather busy between school and other stuff. I will try to get some articles/updates posted on the site either tonight or tomorrow, I can at least guarantee I’m writing a review that I can post up for an item Logitech sent me.  it’s an item that may interest some of the more regular to hardcore gamers, might not to but hey what the hell it’s tech related so it works I guess.

Digg Case Mod By. Qtip42

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Heyo everyone Ive been scowering digg as usual and I came across a sweet mod done to look like the Digg logo and thought well for one thing kinda ironic that I was searching for some mods that made it to digg and found this and also since I posted almost everything I have on the site from stuff I found on digg hell lets do a tribute by adding this piece up here.

Anyway I figured from the looks of it this mod took a fair amount of work and it turned out totally awesome that it most definitely deserves to make modd of the month status, I really should search around more for other great mods.  if anyone knows of any awesome mods or has any that they would like to see put up here send me a shout and e-mail me the pics at admin@bcmodding.net ;)

Original Nes Mods

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Found this page posted up on digg and thought it was pretty cool, I’m also aiming to post up more mods since it is a modding site and I don’t post up a ton of related content often enough, I think the mod for turning the nes into an arcade unit was kinda cool and something I think would be interesting to try sometime just for kicks and to say Ive done it. anyway I will post a couple pics below and thelink to the site. :)

Bender Case Mod

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Not sure who made this mod but I found the link to the pic Ive posted below in a comment on digg and I thought it was pretty cool, you don’t really have to be a futurama fan to appreciate this mod I think the ingenuity of it like any mod speaks for itself. I will have to try and track down the names of the creators of this mod for sure, Kudos and great work though.
